Report from the annual conference of the organization Terre et Peuple, winter 2014

Terre et Peuple ('Earth and People') is a French association of pagan identitarianists. It was founded in 1995 by Pierre Vial, a former founder member of GRECE - from which he later left due to ideological differences with Alain de Benoist (Vial has somewhat more radical views on ethnic issues). He is considered one of the most important thinkers of the identitarian movement. He represents its neopagan current. He is currently a retired professor of history.

The conference took place on Sunday, December 7, 2014. It was held in a large building on the outskirts of Paris. Cars with patriotic symbols were already parked outside the entrance, so it was clear that "our own people" were there. Inside the building, there was a spacious hall, a lecture room, and a room with various items. In the sales room, there were stacks of books, magazines, t-shirts, mugs, flags, figurines of Gods, and even sculptures and swords for sale.

At the beginning of the official part, Pierre Vial solemnly welcomed everyone, and the "lecture" section began. The main theme was "Reconquista - Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow." All the lectures around this theme oscilated. It is also worth mentioning that between the lectures, a guest appearance was made by Alaksiej Dziermant from Belarus (whom 'Niklot' had already had the opportunity to host in Warsaw), with a short presentation of the geopolitical vision of his 'Project Citadel'.

The most interesting of them were the last two. The penultimate lecture, by Pierre Krebs (founder of the Thule Seminar), was the longest of all. Krebs turned out to be an incredibly lively and passionate speaker - at times, he literally pushed the audience into their seats. Many topics were discussed. Krebs strongly criticized Christianity. He pointed out that Judeo-Christian spirituality and anthropology is incompatible with the ethnos, spirit, and mentality of European peoples and to a large extent constitutes unnecessary ballast. He also touched on the issue of the unity of all European peoples - Celts, Germans, and Slavs. He placed German order and discipline on the same level as Slavic perseverance and romanticism. He emphasized that solidarity among European peoples should be placed above shallow chauvinisms. He also strongly supported Russia in its conflict with "the West" and the USA. After the end of his speech, he received a standing ovation (from part of the audience).

The final lecture was given by Pierre Vial, president of Terre et Peuple. Vial spoke about how the old reconquista did not happen quickly or without problems. He reminded the audience that the historical "Reconquista" as a historical process was a long-term phenomenon. The expulsion of the Moors from the Iberian Peninsula lasted several hundred years in total. Although there is a long way to go, it is important to remember that in the end, the Arabs were driven out of Europe. It worked once - it will work again. He also stated that it is time for the new generation to take over the baton. His generation has done its work, laying the foundations for the movement. So, it's time for the young ones!

Approximately 300-400 people attended the conference. New acquaintances and contacts were established. The conference proved to be fruitful.
