Statement on Mateusz Piskorski

In connection with the establishment of the "Zmiana" party, led by Mateusz Piskorski, our association has been frequently mentioned in the media as an organization in which the leader of "Zmiana" was active. It is a fact that Mateusz Piskorski was a member of the association for Tradition and Culture "Niklot" until October 2003. However, he voluntarily left it in October 2003 and has since been acting on his own account. For a long time now, his actions have had nothing to do with the activities of our association. We sometimes perceive the mention of the "Niklot" episode in his biography as the media seeking cheap sensationalism.

We note that the goal of the Zadruga movement, whose ideas our circle strives to continue, was the real - not just formal - independence of the Polish nation, which also involved the full independence of its spirit, not subject to external orders. Relying on the success of the nation on someone else's protection is not only politically risky, but also distorts the spirit of the nation in the long run, accustoming it to depending on foreign strength. And this always ultimately means only one's own weakness.

Also for this reason, today's actions of Mateusz Piskorski are alien to the ideas of our movement.

Neither the West nor the East nor any supernatural forces will lead the Polish nation out of poverty and humiliation, moral and civilizational misery in which we stubbornly remain for three centuries. We must do it ourselves!
